Hometown
I grew up in London, Kentucky. I was raised there by my mother and grandparents. I attended South Laurel High School, which is one of two high schools in the city. The other one, North Laurel High School, was our rival school, and I used to love going to the basketball games between the two. Every year, the town hosts the World Chicken Festival, which brings in a lot of people and tourists to the city. It's a neat event that shows off some of the local food, music, crafts, and culture. The festival typically lasts a few days, and its main attraction is the world's largest stainless steel skillet that stays busy frying delicious chicken all day long.
Degree and Plans After Graduation
I am currently attending the University of the Cumberlands for a degree in Computer Science. I have always enjoyed technology, and I like that it involves problem-solving that can use many different paths to get to a desired outcome. I don't really have any concrete plans after graduation. Still, a career in game development has always been a dream of mine. There is a wide variety of jobs and specialties in the computer science field, though, and I am keeping an open mind about all of the possibilities. This Web Design class has been very intriguing to me so far, and I wouldn't be opposed to a job in that field.
My Relationship With the Internet
My relationship with the internet varies wildly day to day. I use it daily for entertainment, communication, and learning, unless there's some wild reason I don't have access to it. I spend much of my time online gaming, watching YouTube and Netflix, listening to music, and staying connected with friends and family. I also heavily rely on the internet for education, as my current college enrollment is entirely online. The most important aspect of the internet to me is the ability for people to connect with each other and share information regardless of where they are in the world. I spend most of my day using the internet in some form, whether for work, entertainment, studying, or just learning random facts about something of interest.
